=== Short biography ===

  • Born in Prerov, Czech Republic, in 1976.
  • In 1993 he represents Czech Republic at the XXIV International Physics Olympiad in Williamsburg, Virginia, USA.
  • In 1994, he represents Czech Republic at the XXV International Physics Olympiad in Beijing, China.
  • From 1994 to 1999, he studies Optics and Optoelectronics at Palacky University, Olomouc, Czech Republic.
  • In 1997, he gets a Bachelor degree in Optics.
  • In 1999, he receives a degree Master of Science. Master thesis: Quantum statistics of light in Raman and Brillouin couplers. Thesis advisor: Professor Jan Perina.
  • From 1999 to 2002, he is a Ph.D. student at the Department of Optics, Palacky University, Olomouc, Czech Republic, Ph.D. supervisor Professor Jan Perina.
  • From 1999 to 2000, he spends one year as a visiting Ph.D. student in the group of Professor Ilya Averbukh, Department of Chemical Physics, Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel.
  • In 2000, he spends 3 months as a visiting Ph.D. student in the group of Professor Ulf Leonhardt, School of Physics and Astronomy, University of St. Andrews, Scotland.
  • In 2002, he successfully defends his Ph.D. thesis “Conditional generation, reconstruction, and cloning of quantum states of light”and gets the Ph.D. degree.
  • From 2003 to 2004, he is a post-doctoral research fellow in the group of Professor nicolas Cerf, QUIC, Universite Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium.
  • In 2003, he is awarded the “Czech head”prize, Doctorandus category, for his scientific achievements in the field of quantum information theory.
  • In 2003, he is awarded the “Vaclav Votruba”prize for the best Ph.D. thesis in theoretical physics.
